Barbara Ann (Donahue) McConville of Quincy, passed away on November 20, 2013.
Born in Medford, she was the daughter of James C. and Ethel M. (Fay) Donahue. She was a graduate of Quincy High School and the Catherine Gibbs School.
She was the cherished wife of Joseph F. McConville for 57 years, loving mother of Joseph and his wife Susan of North Attleboro, MA, James and his wife Maria of Ft. Campbell, KY, John and his wife Ruthie of Quincy, MA, Paul and his wife Jeanne of Sleepy Hollow, IL, and Mary Kate Falkenstrom and her husband Ed of Bellingham, MA. She was the proud grandmother of Michael, Jessica, Joseph, Ryan, Bridget, Danny, Katie, Emma and Charlotte. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was known for her devotion to her faith, family, education and friends. A past board member for the Merrymount Association, she was active in many community activities, including the rehabilitation of Quincy Bay. She loved to read, follow local politics and was an avid sports fan. In addition, she loved to spend time at her family’s summer home in Deer Isle, ME. She will be missed by everyone she touched.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 227 Sea Street, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, 815 Willard Street, Quincy.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Archbishop Williams High School, 80 Independence Avenue, Braintree MA 02184.
