Barbara A. Gilfeather

Gilfeather, Barbara A. (DiBona) of Quincy, died June 19, 2012 after a brief illness, she was 81. The beloved wife of the late John J. Gilfeather, Ret. QPD. Loving mother of Barry D. Gilfeather and his companion Barbara Violandi of Rockland, Marie Shadduck of Braintree and the late Michael Gilfeather. Mother in law of Rosemary Gilfeather of NC. Grandmother of Jack, Craig and Caroline Shadduck, Mary Murphy and her husband Casey, Anna, Spencer, Daniel, Angelina & Christa Gilfeather. Barbara is also survived by her 2 great grandchildren Wesley and Haleigh Murphy. Barbara will be remembered as a devoted wife and cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose life revolved around her family. She was a second mother to many and a true and loyal friend to those lucky to have known her. She enjoyed cooking, bingo, bowling, trips to Foxwoods and traveling with her family. In recent years, she was a member of the St. Mary’s Women’s group. Barbara was a talented knitter and gifted beautiful Christmas stockings, sweaters and afghans to many. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
