Barbara A. Durant

Barbara A. (Cooper) Durant of Weymouth, died July 21, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Barbara grew up in Milton and Hyde Park, graduating from Milton High School. In her early years she enjoyed dancing and bowling and later became skilled in crafts. Barbara could often be found knitting and crocheting blankets and clothing for family and dolls alike. Barbara is affectionately known as “Grammy Bunny” for the many bunnies she sewed for her grandchildren. She also loved gardening and traveling with family and friends. She will be sadly missed. 

Beloved wife of 63 years to James E. Durant of Weymouth. Devoted mother of Gary Durant and his wife Sue of Carver, Glenn Durant and his late wife Sue of Hanson, Geoffrey Durant and his wife Debi of Plymouth, Lori Thomas and her husband Eric of Pembroke, the late Linda Malnati and her husband Paul of NH and the late Gregg Durant. Cherished “Grammy Bunny” of Jesse, Mardi, Lindsay, Jason, Jamie, Jillian, Diandra, Courtney, Zachary and “GG” to Tyler, Haley, Cami, Maia and Sydney. Loving sister of John Cooper of TX, Louise Brown of Whitman, Christine Murphy of Abington and Peter Cooper of Abington. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.   

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.)  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Barbara may be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation, 115 Broadway, Suite 1301, New York, NY 10006.
