Arthur T. Curran of Quincy (89), died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on November 6, 2015.
Devoted husband of Ethel M. (Bora) Curran. Unconditionally loving father of Laurene (Curran) Price and her husband Jim Price of Marshfield, MA, Janice (Curran) Bickley and her husband Barry Bickley of North Andover, MA, and Kim (Curran) Colomey and her husband Tom Colomey of Cumberland, RI. Stepfather to Donald Rowley of Burrillville, RI. Proud Papa of Jack Price, Brianna, Michael and Jaime Bickley, and Luke and Robbie Colomey.
Son of the late Thomas and Bertha (Van Horn) Curran. Predeceased by his brothers Ralph and Thomas Curran. Following the death of his parents at an early age, Arthur was raised by his grandmother the late Mary (McDonough) Curran, and his aunt and uncle the late Mary (Curran) and Jack O’Keefe. He cherished his cousins Maureen (O’Keefe) Sullivan of Plymouth, MA and the late Sheila (O’Keefe) Frazier as sisters. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Art cherished the time he spent with his family, enjoyed many family vacations, was an avid Boston sports fan, and was proud to serve his country in both World War II and the Korean War in the United States Navy.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Veterans Day Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 4:pm – 8pm at Keohane’s Funeral Home at 785 Hancock St. in Wollaston, A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday at 9:15am in the funeral home prior to the Funeral Mass Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 10 am at St. Ann’s Church, 757 Hancock St. Wollaston. Burial with military honors at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
