Connolly, Arthur R. of Quincy, August 22, 2006. Husband of Roberta T. (Ryan) of Quincy. Father of Virginia “Ginny” Connolly of Quincy, Donald of Revere, Arthur “Rocky” of Quincy, Joseph of Quincy, Stephen, Sr. and his wife Lori of Quincy and Robert of Weymouth. Brother of the late Eileen Frates, Joseph and Henry Connolly. Grandfather of Catherine and Stephen Connolly, Jr. of Quincy. Brother in law of June Dooley, Beverly Gray, both of Wareham and Grace Perullo of Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Friday at 10 AM. Funeral Mass from Holy Trinity Parish in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church at 11 AM. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 PM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in memory of Mr. Connolly may be made to the Jimmy Fund, 1309 Beacon Street, Brookline, MA 02446-9918. Arthur worked as a fork lift driver for Walter Baker Chocolate Factory from 1951 to 1956. He spent most of his career at General Foods from 1956 to 1984 at their location in Dedham. He also worked for Brady Enterprises in Weymouth from 1984 to 2002. Arthur ran the BINGO program at St. Boniface Church in Quincy for 30 years. He was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed working in the garden. His family gave him the most enjoyment in life. He was very involved in his children’s activities when they were young. His family describes him as a helpful good guy, always there to help out a friend in need. He also enjoyed show tunes, musicals and the theatre. His two favorite sayings were, “Let’s go for a ride” and “Grouchy’s home!”
