Lemon, Arthur J. “Artie” of Quincy, passed away October 6, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Virginia (Campbell) and the late Maria (Bevilacqua). Loving father of Richard Lemon of FL, Frederick Lemon of MD, Patricia Perkins of Quincy, Shirley Shepherd of Quincy, and the late Dennis and Donald Bruce. Loving brother of Dorothy Tantillo of Weymouth, Barbara Morrissey of CT, and the late Richard, Robert and Herbert Lemon. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. Arthur lived in the Hough’s Neck section of Quincy for most of his life. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1934 and was a pitcher for the school baseball team. He loved sports and enjoyed all the local teams. After high school Artie served in the National Guard for three years. He later worked as a pipefitter and welder for Local 537 for over 50 years, retiring in 1981. Artie loved spending time with his family, gardening, dancing, digging for clams, woodworking and cooking. Arthur was a member of the Holy Name Society for over 30 years. He was blessed with a strong faith, had a happy go lucky attitude, could weave wonderful stories and held intelligent conversations. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Quincy at 10 a.m. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in memory of Artie may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
