Arthur Handrahan

Handrahan, Arthur, age 94, of Hingham, formerly of Hull, died on Thursday, January 6, 2011. Beloved husband of the late Irene (Fee) Handrahan. Loving father of Bill and his wife Ingrid of ME, Dick and his wife Bonnie of Hingham, David and his wife Diane of RI and Jeff and his wife Tamara of Hingham. Loving brother of Bill Handrahan and his wife Ann of Hull, and the late Mary Porter, Ruth Halverston, Joe, John, Alfred, Robert, Paul, Frances Perry, Ann Hammond and Lucille O’Neal. Cherished grandfather of Wendy, Jodie, Jennifer, Margaret, Patrick, Sean, Rebecca and Jake. Loving great grandfather of Bill, Julie, Amanda, Trisha, Nicole, Charlotte, Emily, Elizabeth and Olivia. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. The focus of Arthur’s life was his family and his career. He loved the water and enjoyed boating, fishing and clam digging. In fact, he became a certified Scuba diver at age 65. He was an athlete in his earlier days and loved to follow the local professional teams. A retiree of Westinghouse in Hyde Park, Arthur worked as a Supervisor for 44 years. While not a veteran, he served our country on a top secret project for Westinghouse, during WWII. Arthur will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and sense of humor. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Sunday, January 9, 2011 from 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Monday, January 10, 2011 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church at 11 AM. Cremation to follow.
