Arthur Ennis Parrow

Arthur Ennis Parrow “Red” passed away at 92 on Thursday, February 19, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.

Arthur was born on March 28, 1922 in Boston where he was raised in the Lower Mills section of Dorchester. Son of Arthur E. Parrow and Katherine Ennis Parrow, brother to the late Helen Oldham and Robert Parrow. Arthur was formerly married to the late Dorothy Monarch Parrow. Arthur later re-married his loving wife Patricia Ann Parrow of Plymouth. Arthur was a former ball turret gunner in a B-24 bomber “Liberator” in Europe during the Second World War. He was a true Patriot who loved his country and who, in his families’ eyes, was an American hero. Arthur graduated from Boston University and went on to work as a contracting officer for the U.S. Department of the Navy. After 35 years of service to the federal government he retired to live a life full of traveling, spending time with his family and enjoying hobbies such as golfing, gardening, and reading. He once read an entire library! He had a passion for food and enjoyed arguing politics. He had the ability to lighten up a room with his humor.

Arthur lived most recently in Plymouth and Hingham. He and his wife, Patricia, spent many years in Arizona away from the harsh New England winters where they enjoyed the company of many friends. Arthur is survived by his wife Patricia Parrow of Plymouth, daughter Kathrine Parrow of Boston, daughter Joanne Burke of Marshfield, granddaughter Meghan Burke of Boston, grandsons Matthew and Brian Burke of Quincy and his brother Robert Parrow of Florida. Arthur is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He has been an inspiration to all who knew him and he will be forever missed.
