Armida Rose “Mimi” (Magrini) Sestito

Armida Rose “Mimi” (Magrini) Sestito, of Hull, died suddenly at her home on Thursday, December 14, 2023. She was 82.

Mimi was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on December 2, 1941, and was the daughter of the late Lodovico and Helen (Parzych) Magrini. She was raised in Enfield, Connecticut, and attended local schools. Mimi attended Boston University, American University in Washington D.C., then later earned her master’s degree from Cambridge College.

Hull was her home away from home. She summered in Hull and Italy as a child. Little did she know then that Hull and Italy would hold the heart to her future.

Mimi taught in Hull for 30 years between the Damon School and the Jacobs School. She impacted so many, whether it was teaching English to Italians that had moved to Hull from Palermiti, her famous Thanksgiving play, and planting tulips over at Peddocks Island.

Mimi had a zest for life! Some of her fondest memories were on the water, Nantasket Beach, and Italy! Her passions were her family, teaching, traveling, boating, and her beloved life in Italy!

Mimi was the former wife of the late Bruno Sestito, who died in 2020. She was the devoted mother of Domenico L. Sestito and his wife Deborah of Hull, Lodovico B. Sestito and his wife Lisa of Hull. Mimi was the loving grandmother of William Nolan of Hull, Rocco Sestito of Hull, Marco Sestito of Hull, Camden Ciulla- Marcinkewich and Her husband John of Hull, Hudson Ciulla-Sestito of Hull, Boden Ciulla-Sestito of Hull, Harrison Ciulla-Sestito of Hull. She was the loving great grandmother of Delilah Ciulla-Marcinkewich of Hull.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday, December 21, 2023, 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Friday, December 22, 2023, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Hull at 10 AM.

Mimi will be interred with her family in Sirolo, Marche, Italy at a later date.
