Arlene A. (McPhee) Pacino

Arlene A. (McPhee) Pacino, of Quincy, died peacefully on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She was 78.

Arlene was born in Boston on October 12, 1946, and was the daughter of the late Daniel and Edna (Conley) McPhee. She was raised in Quincy, attended local schools and graduated from North Quincy High School with the Class of 1964. Arlene continued her education at Quincy Junior College.

Arlene was a beloved mother, grandmother, friend, and community volunteer, whose warmth, spirit, and devotion touched the lives of all who knew her.

Arlene was a familiar and trusted figure in the City of Quincy, where she worked as a crossing guard for many years, ensuring the safety of children and families with her watchful eye and friendly smile. Her dedication to her community extended beyond her work, as she volunteered at Sacred Heart Church Bingo and generously supported the Quincy Youth Hockey program, where she made a lasting impact on both the children and families involved.

In addition to her volunteer work, Arlene found joy in many things, particularly spending time with her family. She loved her trips to Foxwoods and cherished every opportunity to gather with loved ones at family events. A passionate cook, Arlene was known for her delicious meals and, most notably, her signature chocolate cake with mocha frosting—an essential part of every birthday celebration in her family.

Arlene was a breast cancer survivor, demonstrating incredible resilience and strength throughout her journey. Her love and care for her grandchildren were unparalleled. She was a devoted, loyal, and protective grandmother who gave freely of her time and energy to make sure they knew how special they were. Arlene was feisty in spirit, yet her heart was filled with kindness and generosity. Her strength, loyalty, and unwavering support were constants in the lives of her family and friends.

Arlene was the beloved wife of John B Pacino, with whom she shared many loving years. She was the devoted mother of Elizabeth A. Matheson and her husband Michael of Franklin, John B. Pacino Jr. and his wife Elaine of Hanover, and David P. Pacino, QPD and his wife Siobhan of Braintree. Arlene was the loving grandmother of Nicholas Barry of Franklin, Jack Pacino of Hanover, Danielle Barry of Franklin, Christopher Pacino of Hanover, Ryan Pacino of Braintree, and Fiona Pacino of Braintree. She was the dear sister of Ken McPhee and his wife Marie of Weymouth, and the late Daniel McPhee. Arlene is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
