Arlene K. Holleman

Holleman, Arlene K. (McLain) of South Boston, died February 7, 2014.

Beloved mother of David Holleman of South Boston, Denise Clark of Dorchester and Dorothy Levesque of Quincy.  Devoted sister of   Frank McLain of Braintree, Barbara Baker of Braintree, Thomas McLain of  Somerville, Richard McLain of Dorchester, Brian McLain of South Boston, Maureen  McLain of South Boston and the late Rosemary Thoms  and Ann Gonsolves. Cherished Nana of David Becker, Darlene Fitzgerald, Daniel Holleman and Emily Clark.  Great-grandmother of Jaiden, David and Liam.  Arlene was a Loving foster mother to over 100 foster children.

Arlene was a life long resident of South Boston. She was a Paraprofessional for the Boston Public Schools for 25 years before retiring.  She had a special love for children dedicating her life and her time to not only her own children but to fostering over 100 children throughout the years.  She enjoyed bingo, crocheting and making crafts and holiday decorations. Arlene enjoyed her social circles and getting together with friends and family whenever she could.  Most of all Arlene loved her family, always working hard to put her family first, they were the most important aspect of her life.  She will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure to have known her.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Vincent Church, 363 E Street, South Boston, at 10 AM. Cremation will follow.
