Antonio “Tony’ Monteiro

Monteiro Jr., Antonio A. of Quincy, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family December 10, 2016. Tony grew up in Barnstable, later becoming a resident of Quincy. For over 40 years, Tony was employed at Modern Die and Machine / Eastern Steel Rack Co. in Dorchester. Legally blind, Tony still maintained his independence and social life. Gardening and working on projects around his home were some of Tony’s favorite past times. An active member and past Commodore of the Gull Point Yacht Club, Tony also enjoyed campaigning for local politics and community services. Later in life, Tony’s passion was dancing. He loved to dance at the Whipple Senior Center in Weymouth and the Braintree Vikings Club.

Beloved husband of 63 years to Constance (Nadeau) Monteiro. Loving father of Donna M. Stoker and her longtime partner Richard J. Stoltz of Quincy, David A. Monteiro and his wife Sheryl of Hull and Richard D. Monteiro and his wife Suzette of Middleboro. Son of the late Antonio and Marianna Monteiro. Proud grandfather of Christopher, Kiely, Justin, Danielle, Bryan and Krystina. Brother of Mary Perry of Osterville and the late Anne, Betty, Teddy, Mercia, Augustine, Domingo and John. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Donations may be made in Tony’s memory to: Massachusetts Eye and Ear, 243 Charles Street Boston, MA 02114.
