Gullifa, Antonio passed peacefully at home surrounded by family members on November 30, 2011 at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Emma (Ricci) Gullifa of Quincy whom he had been married to for 50 years. Cherished father to Josephine Salhab of Quincy and Mirella McDonough of Beverly. Loving and devoted grandfather to Kayla & Dylan Stevens both of Quincy. Loving brother to Giuseppe Gullifa of Pezzolo, Sicily, Italy and Grace Nocera and her husband Nick of Hull. Uncle of Phyllis Sheehan and Linda Perry of Weymouth. Antonio is also survived by a large extended family in Italy and Sicily, where he was originally from, and by many dear friends. He will be greatly missed. A long time Quincy resident, Antonio immigrated from Messina, Sicily in 1970 with his wife and children to join his parents, the late Domenico and Giuseppa Gullifa. Antonio was a devoted family man who enjoyed family, friends, his Italian heritage & traditions and followed world soccer. He was loved and noted for his generosity, loyalty, great humor, and all around good heartedness. He had a profound love of nature. Gardening was a passion, the abundant results of which he was known for sharing with family and friends. He especially enjoyed vacationing at the family country home in Le Marche, Italy. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, December 4th 2-6 pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life will take place in the Keohane Funeral Home Monday at 9:15 am followed by a Funeral Mass Service in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Antonio’s memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St, Boston, MA 02115.
