Anne Mcdonald

Anne McDonald of Quincy and Rockland, died September 11, 2015. Anne spent her earlier years living in Roslindale and Jamaica Plain. Anne attended high school at Notre Dame Academy in Boston, and went to St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing. She received her Master’s Degree at Boston College. Anne worked many years at Massachusetts General Hospital as a CNS in Psychiatry. While living in Plymouth Crossing, Anne earned herself The Movers and Shakers Award; she loved to dance and sing. Anne enjoyed doing needlework and was an artist of acrylics and stained glass. Gardening was also a hobby of Anne’s and she grew the prettiest roses. A woman always on the go, she loved to visit her cottage in Truro to enjoy the beautiful Cape beaches. Most importantly, Anne loved the time she spent with her family.

 

Anne is the daughter of the late Edward and Mildred McDonald. Previously married to Donald Carll of Allston, and beloved partner of the late Jan Sarno. Dear mother to Ellen Bennett and her husband Ricky of Plymouth, Edward Carll and his wife Nanci of Plymouth, Donald Carll and his wife Kathy of Marshfield, Daniel Carll and his wife Suzanne of FL, Julie Igo and her husband Rich of Weymouth. Loving sister to Ted McDonald and his wife Cathy of Chatham, Paul McDonald and his wife Nancy of Sandwich, Arthur McDonald and his wife Melanie of Salem, and the late Jerry and Hazel McDonald of Boxford. Cherished Grannie to Alex, Taylor, Sarah, Peter, Rachel and Nicole. Longtime friend of over 70 years, Mildred Reisfelder and all of her friends at Leisurewoods. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.    

 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday September 16, from 4-8 p.m. in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday September 17 at The Forsyth Chapel at Forest Hills, Boston at 11 a.m.Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston. In Lieu of flowers donations in Anne’s memory may be made to: Special Olympics, 1133 19th Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20036 and also to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle Suite 326 Plymouth, MA 02360.
