Anne M. “Sissy” Conolly

Conolly, Anne M. (Curran) “Sissy” of Braintree, formerly of Randolph, Quincy, and Brighton died October 29, 2018.

Former spouse of the late Francis P. Conolly. Beloved mother of Ellen (Conolly) Fitzgerald and her husband David of Braintree. Loving and caring Nana of Sarah, Julia and John “Jack” Fitzgerald all of Braintree. Cherished daughter of the late John and Anne Curran. Caring sister of the late John E. Curran Jr. and Robert Curran. Adored sister-in-law of Elizabeth “Betty” Curran of Middleboro.    Devoted aunt of Kathleen Doyle of Milton, Julie Curran of Weymouth, Patricia Curran of Beverly, Rosemary Scapicchio of Weymouth, Margaret Curran of Briantree and Jacquline McAuley of Stoneham. Also survived by Anne are many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Known as Sissy to her family and close friends, she was born and raised in Brighton where she attended St. Columbkille School and Parish. Anne cherished her Brighton “family” and kept in close contact with her long time friends and neighbors. Anne worked as an administrative assistant at Gillette and later retired from Nutter McClennen and Fish Law Firm where she worked as a legal secretary for many years. Anne was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith and volunteered as a religious education teacher at St. Francis in Braintree. Anne also volunteered for the Salvation Army during the holiday seasons and proudly supported many charities over her lifetime. Anne enjoyed listening to her favorite oldies music and was an avid animal lover. Anne chose to live her life as a loving example to all. Anne’s family was the center of her life and she played a most loving, supportive role in her grandchildren’s lives, never missing an occasion or chance to spend time with them. She will forever be remembered for her kind, gentle and genuine personality. Anne was truly a remarkable spirit and will be sadly missed by all.
