Anne M. (Norris) Lehane of Braintree, formerly of Hingham, passed away peacefully at home April 19, 2025. She was 76 years old.
Born in Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary, Ireland, Anne and her family immigrated to the U.S. and lived in Dorcester, Ma in 1962. Daughter of the late Mary (Walsh) and John Norris. Anne attended Dorchester High School after which she chose to forgo a college scholarship to work full time to help her family. She worked at Tileston and Hollingsworth Company and then the MBTA Credit Union where she made several lifelong friends. Shortly thereafter, Anne met the love of her life, her “honey” Peter at Kilgarriff’s Café in Jamaica Plain.
Anne and Peter settled in Hingham where they raised their three children. It was there, on Park Circle where they met friends who became family and still are to this day. The Lehane house was always a warm, welcoming place where often you’d find Anne sitting at the kitchen table enjoying a cup of coffee and a laugh with a friend. On Saturdays, you would always find the Irish Hour on the radio. In the warm weather, Anne would be working in the yard and “puttering around” her beautiful Rock Garden. Her house was always immaculate yet welcoming and cozy. She loved being a wife, mother and eventually a nana. Her children and grandchildren were the lights of her life. She was so proud of the life she and Peter had built together. Anne was a loyal friend to many and a fierce protector to all whom she loved. She will be greatly missed by everyone who was blessed to know her.
Beloved wife of 54 years to the late Peter Lehane whom she missed so deeply since his death less than one year prior to hers. They are together once again, what an epic reunion that must have been.
Loving mother of Nicole Gray and her husband Christopher of Bridgewater, Renee Moon and her husband Michael, and Peter Lehane and his wife Stacy all of Weymouth.
Sister of Richard and Denise Norris of Braintree, John and Charlene Norris of Weymouth, Mary and Jerry Connelly of Milton, and Bridget and Michael Reynolds of Medford.
Proud Nana of Owen and Taylor Gray, Brittany and Michael Moon and Kathleen and Margaret “Maggie" Lehane.
Also survived by brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday 4/29/2025 from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So.
