Anne E. Lumbert

Lumbert, Anne E. (Ellsworth) of Hingham, formerly of CT, died on Sunday April 17, 2011. Former wife of the late Everett W. Lumbert. Loving mother of Jay Lumbert and his wife Deborah of Hingham and Janice Pelzel and her husband Carl of Livermore, CA. Dear sister of Jane Frye and her husband Maurice of Chatham and Donald Ellsworth of Cincinnati, OH. Cherished grandmother of Christiana, Sabrina, Allyssa, William and Katrina Lumbert all of Hingham and Jennifer Pelzel of Weston, CT and Ashley Pelzel of CA. Anne was a graduate of Wheaton College and received her Master’s Degree in Education from Trinity College in Hartford, CT. She taught English at Windsor Lock High School in CT, where she took great pride in educating the children in her care. Anne was an avid reader and especially enjoyed the works of William Shakespeare. In her earlier years, she found great pleasure in golf and skiing. She had a passion for politics and followed the stock market diligently. Anne was always ready for the challenge of a crossword puzzle, even after her eye sight began to diminish, her son Jay will enlarge the puzzle to help make it clearer for her to see. She remained independent up to the very end. Anne’s life focus was her family, she will be remembered as a kind and devoted mother, sister and grandmother who brought style and grace to the lives she touched. She will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to have known her. Funeral services were private. Memorial donations may be made to the Hingham Senior Center, 224 Central St. Hingham, MA 02043.
