Anna V. Walsh

Anna V. Walsh (Spatola) of Weymouth, wife of the late William J. Walsh, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2024. She was 97 years old.
Born in Boston on May 12, 1926, Anna was the daughter of the late Samuel and Rose Spatola. Raised in Dorchester, she graduated from Dorchester High School for Girls. In her thirties, she went to work for Purity Supreme Market. Starting as a cashier, she worked her way up to Head Bookkeeper where she remained for over thirty years. After she retired, she spent the next thirty years of her life as a strong, independent, and social woman. She enjoyed playing bingo several times a week, belonged to bowling leagues where she excelled and won trophies, and organized regular bus trips to Foxwoods Casino well into her eighties.
At age 94, Anna took up watercolor painting and delighted in giving her framed artwork to her family and friends. Above all, Anna loved her large family. As the Matriarch, her greatest joy was getting together for holidays, birthdays, and family gatherings. Four generations, including her three daughters, five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren all adored and loved Nanny.
Beloved mother of Carole Walsh of Weymouth, Rosemary Connor of Quincy, Judith Walsh and her partner Scott McDuffy of Middleboro. Cherished grandmother to Christine Iannacone and her husband Steven of Hingham, Shaun Doherty of Quincy, Patrick Connor and his wife Keri of Hanover, Shannon Dunphy and her husband Kevin of Milton, and Danielle Connor and her partner Chris Graziano of Braintree. Dear great-grandmother of Taylor Burt and her husband George of Abington, Brandon Buccheri of Dorchester, Cameron and Ryan Connor of Hanover, Olivia and Colby Dunphy of Milton, Nico and Christiano Iannacone of Hingham, and Christopher, Alia, and Nicholas Graziano of Braintree. Loving great-great grandmother of Madison Martin – Burt and Jayden and Zachary Burt of Abington. She will also be missed by her fur “grandbabies” Willow and Linus from Middleboro. Sister of the late John Spatola and Gilda Groves, Anna is survived by her sister-in law Katherine Spatola of Brockton.
Anna will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
