Anna D. Long

Long, Anna D. (Duffin) of Squantum, and originally from Jamaica Plain, died peacefully April 26, 2014. 

Anna leaves Jim, her beloved husband, of 45 years with gratitude and love for his enduring kindness during her illness. Loving sister of Mary McDonough of Dorchester, William Duffin of Chelsea, Frances Duffin of Jamaica Plain and the late Margaret Goggin, Patrick Duffin and John Duffin.  Dear aunt of Patricia Nestor and Margaret Goggin,  Anna is fondly remembered and will be sorely missed by all of her special nieces and nephews.

Kind, compassionate, forgiving, and generous wife, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt, faithful and joyful friend, prayerful and devout Catholic, Anna retired from her managerial position at New England Telephone with more than 30 years of service, and then enjoyed several years working as an usher at the Wang Center and as a Civil Service Exam proctor.  Engaged and energetic, Anna placed her family and her faith at the center of her life, volunteering at both Star of the Sea Church in Squantum and Sacred Heart Church in N. Quincy and cherishing her time with her nieces and nephews at the beach at Green Harbor. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury.
