Ann V. Mayeski of Weymouth, formerly a longtime resident of Hingham, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024. She was 85.
She was born in Boston to Anna M. (Murphy) and William W. Mayeski and raised in Quincy. After high school, she earned her associates degree. Her first job was with the Probation Department of the Suffolk Superior Court. She worked there for 31 years before retiring and working part time as an activities assistant at Harbor House in Hingham.
Ann was a devout Catholic and in her spare time, she was a member of the Hingham Catholic Women’s Club and even held a position as the chairwoman. She was generous with her time and spent much of it volunteering at Harbor House and helping others. She had this innate desire to be a helping hand.
She was always fun to be around. Ann embraced her differences and had a funky, eccentric way about her and even reflected this in her sense of style. Sometimes she would dress to be different or for a laugh. She was carefree and was proud to be unique.
Loving cousin to Mary Murphy, Anne Burke and the late Frank Murphy. Cherished daughter to the late Anna M. (Murphy) and William W. Mayeski. Beloved niece of the late Bartholomew Murphy. Dear friend of Kerry Mullaney (O’Keefe).
Services for Ann will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann’s name may be made to the New England Wildlife Center, 500 Columbian Street, Weymouth, MA 02190.
