Singleton, Ann Marie of Scituate formerly of Hingham, September 7, 2005. Beloved daugther of Eileen (Fitzgerald) and the late Daniel Singleton. Loving sister of Margaret and her husband John Rourke, Daniel and his wife Bonnie, Mark and his wife Helen, Kevin, all of Hingham, Dennis and his wife Rita of FL, Julia and her husband Kent of VT, Regina and her husband Peter Waller of CO and Christine of CO and her late husband Paul. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Ann died at home, in the care of her loving family. She was born in Boston on July 3, 1945. She attended grammar school at St. Paul’s School in Hingham and graduated from Hingham High School in 1963. She attended Quincy Junior College and earned a B.S. in education at Boston State College, graduating in 1967. Ann did her student teaching in Hingham and upon graduation taught in elementary schools in Halifax and Dorchester for a number of years. Ann obtained a Master’s Degree in Education from Boston University in 1974. She left teaching for a career in business and went on to get an M.B.A from Northeastern University in 1983, earning some credits toward her degree at the University of San Francisco. At the time of her death, Ann was employed as a chief financial officer at Suburban Home Healthcare in Brookline, where she had worked since 1993. Ann was a generous, giving woman who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed travel, music, tennis and dancing and expressed her love of color in the clothes she wore. She showed an indomitable spirit in her battle with breast cancer, inspiring others with her courage and optimism. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM Saturday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ann may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, For Breast Cancer Research 10 Brookline Place Brookline, MA 02116.
