Carroll, Ann M. (Folan) of Quincy, passed away on October 24, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. The beloved wife of the late Bernard F. Carroll Ret. QPD. Cherished mother of Tracy Leffingwell and her husband Steve of Wilsall, Montana and Michael Carroll, QFD of Quincy. Daughter of the late Michael & Nora ( Cooney) Folan. Devoted sister of Mary M. Folan of Quincy. Ann was born and raised in County Galway, Ireland. She came to the United States in 1951 and lived in Dorchester before settling in Quincy where she has lived for the last 45 years. Ann worked as a secretary for the City of Quincy Schools for many years. She was an active member of the Friends of Boston Harbor Islands as well as the Olli Program at U Mass Boston. Ann was a generous woman, she volunteered many hours at Marina Bay Nursing Home. Ann had a very adventurous spirit and loved to travel to many places, she enjoyed every trip she took. She was a loving wife, mother and friend who will be remembered as a kind, generous and giving woman who was devoted to her family. Ann will be sadly missed by all those who knew her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ann may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society,733 Third Ave., 3rd floor, New York, New York, 10017.
