Ann K. Meaney

Ann K. Meaney (Delaney), 80, of Weymouth, died at home on December 16, 2017 after a courageous battle with thyroid cancer.

Ann was born on March 5,1937 in Troy, New York to the late Thomas and Marjory (Waters) Delaney. Ann was raised in Troy and graduated from the College of Saint Rose as an elementary school teacher. After marrying her husband, the late Thomas Meaney of Bennington, VT, they settled in Weymouth to raise their eight children. Ann was a dedicated teacher in the Weymouth Public Schools for over 20 years and earned a Masters in Education from Cambridge College in 1989. Throughout her life, Ann was active in her community and served as a powerful example of strength and resiliency to all who knew her. She accepted life’s many blessings and challenges with grace and determination by always putting her family, friends and others first. Ann’s family and friends will be forever grateful for her love, laughter and indomitable spirit.

Beloved mother of Thomas Meaney and his wife, Mary, of Braintree, Michael Meaney of Weymouth, Katie Holland and her husband, Joseph, of Weymouth, Timothy Meaney of Saratoga Springs, NY, Ann Weintrob and her husband, Aaron, of Easton, Ellen Kenney of Middleboro, Nora Mazzeo and son-in-law, Michael Mazzeo, of Braintree and the late Mark Meaney. Cherished grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Sister of Lawrence Delaney and his wife, Fran, of Seattle, WA, Robert Delaney and his wife, Beth, of Troy, NY, Marjory Fraser of Troy, NY, Katie Resch and her husband, John, of Webster, NY and sister-in-law, Lin Delaney of Troy, NY. Ann was predeceased by her brothers, Michael Delaney and Thomas Delaney III. Also, survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 3:00-8:00 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:00 AM Friday, December 22, 2017, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 9:00 AM.
