Ann M. ( Carney) Cashman, a dedicated wife, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, at the age of 74, after several years of battling chronic illnesses. Born on December 28, 1950, Ann spent her life embodying the values of compassion, love, and selflessness.
Ann's career as a nurse began after she graduated from the Quincy Hospital School of Nursing, marking the start of a lifelong vocation in healthcare. She worked diligently as a case manager at South Shore Hospital and earlier in her career, she worked as a nurse at Quincy Hospital, the American Red Cross, and provided invaluable care for patients with the South Shore Visiting Nurses. Throughout her career, Ann was a great mentor, and she encouraged many of her coworkers to pursue a career in nursing.
Beyond her professional achievements, Ann took great pride in her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was especially proud of her three beautiful daughters and delighted in spending precious moments with her grandchildren. Family dinners, filled with laughter and warmth, were a cherished tradition in her household as she lovingly prepared meals for her family, ensuring that everyone felt welcomed and cared for.
Ann created countless memories with her family on vacations at Newfound Lake, and Lake Winnipesaukee where she played and swam with her grandchildren, went for rides around the lake on the boat, and enjoyed other excursions with the family. She also enjoyed many Caribbean cruise vacations with her husband, Bill, creating lasting memories.
Ann was known for her witty and humorous nature, often referred to as a "hot ticket" by those who loved her. Her infectious laugh brought joy to many, and her selflessness was apparent in her willingness to support anyone in need. Ann leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion that will forever be remembered by her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Ann is predeceased by her husband William Cashman. Loving mother of Kristin Norton and her husband Steve of Nebraska, Kerri Cashman and her husband Ryan Taylor of Whitman, and Kathleen Cashman and her husband Peter Dumond of Weymouth. Grandmother to Nicholas Norton and Taylor Miller, and great-grandmother to Greyson Miller and Peyton Miller. Sister to Joan Swimm of Carver, John Carney of Quincy, Kathleen Wood of East Bridgewater, and the late Eileen Carney of Weymouth.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday 5/4/2025 from 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So.
