Angelo A. Amico

Angelo A. Amico, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 23, 2025. He was 19 days shy of his 91st birthday.

Angelo pursued his education at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, a decision that would shape his professional life. Though he initially started studying electrical engineering, his passion for helping others led him to the field of pharmacy. Angelo's career as a pharmacist was marked by his reputation as the go-to person for medical advice, a role he embraced with the utmost responsibility and care.

His life was a testament to his gentle, loving, and kind nature, which touched the hearts of all who knew him. Angelo's military career began in the bustling city of Atlanta, where he proudly served in the Army from 1957 until 1959 as a staff Pharmacist, before transitioning to the reserves until 1963. His dedication to service was a hallmark of his character, one that would shine throughout his life.

For 18 years, Angelo served as the chief pharmacist at Milton Hospital, where his expertise and compassionate approach to patient care were greatly valued. His career also included significant contributions to St. Elizabeth's, Carney, Spaulding Rehab and St. Luke’s hospitals, where his knowledge and dedication continued to make a difference in the lives of countless individuals. In his retirement years, he worked at CVS Pharmacies until the age of 84.

Angelo's commitment to his faith was equally profound. He was an ordained minister at the Word of God Church in Brockton, as he dedicated his life to the Lord for 50 years. His spiritual leadership and unwavering faith were sources of inspiration and comfort to his congregation.

In his younger years, Angelo's love for music led him to the prestigious stage of the Boston Pops as a drummer. Later, he would bring this passion to his church, sharing his talent and joy for music with his spiritual family. His musical legacy remained a vibrant part of his life and brought joy to many.

At the heart of Angelo's world was his beloved wife of 63 years, Adele. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared passions. While Adele was the social butterfly of the pair, hosting numerous bible studies at their home, Angelo was the quiet strength beside her, worshipping the ground she walked on. Their love was a beautiful dance of complementary spirits, all while raising three active boys.

Angelo's love for his grandchildren was boundless, and he was generous with his time, always there to offer support, wisdom, and a listening ear. He and Adele loved to travel in their motor home, with Scusset Beach being a favored destination. In their later years, they found joy in cooking together, creating delicious meals and cherished memories.

Angelo's gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, love, and devotion to his faith will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all the lives he touched. Angelo A. Amico's life was a beautiful melody of service, love, and devotion—a melody that will resonate for eternity.
