Andrew “Hamma” Best, 59 years old, originally from South Weymouth, MA, but residing in Middleboro, MA passed away suddenly on March 10th while on vacation in Daytona Beach, FL.
Preceded in death by his brothers Matthew and James “Jay” Best, his father James Best, and far too many friends. Survived by his mother Anne Best, his sister and brother-in-law Katie Best-Manzo and Peter Manzo, his brother and sister-in-law Michael and Lisa Best, his son and daughter-in-law Michael Andrew Best and Teresa Best, his daughter Julie Best, his daughter Jennifer Blonde and son in law Nunzio Blonde, his ex-wife Lynne Best, his niece and nephew Daniel and Stephanie Best, and all the veterans and families of veterans that he had dedicated his life to helping.
Andrew served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1980-1984 and later worked as a truck driver in the Teamsters Union for over 30 years. He was an active member of the American Infidels Veterans Motorcycle Club and a member of the Law Enforcement Officer Support Foundation, using these positions to help countless veterans and first responders around the country.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather at the Weymouth Elks, 1197 Washington Street, Weymouth, MA 02189 at 10:30 AM on Monday, with a funeral service to follow at 11:30 AM. Burial at 2 PM in MA National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Andrew’s name be made to the Law Enforcement Officer Support Foundation at PayPal.me/saveleos or Venmo.com/saveleos
