Elia, Anastasia T. of Squantum, died Friday, November 25, 2005 after a brief illness. Beloved daughter of the late Sotir and Anastasia (Nini) Elia. Devoted sister of Alexander Elia of Quincy, Anthony Elia of Milford, George Elia of Fort Pierce, FL and the late Margaret Elia Fornaro, Athena Elia Lynch, Dhimitra Elia and Theodore Elia. Dear friend of Margaret Flynn of Squantum. Loving aunt of Joan, Carol, Robert, Gerry, Matthew, and Marc Swirbalus. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON Tuesday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Monday 4 – 8 PM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in memory of Anastasia T. Elia may be made to The Jimmy Fund, 1309 Beacon Street, Brookline, MA 02446-9918. Anastasia was Vice President of her So. Boston High School Class of 1942. She lived in Quincy for over 40 years and was a former Star of the Sea parishioner. She was a co-owner of the Colonial Luncheonette opposite Boston City Hospital for over 35 years. After completion with the Coast Guard Auxiliary, she was the Lady Captain of S.S. Nickels & Dimes for 14 years. She loved yachting to such places as the Falmouth, Provincetown, and Marblehead with friends and family. She sailed on the Queen Elizabeth II – S.S. France. She traveled Europe and the Caribbean. Anastasia was honored to be personally blessed by the late Pope John Paul II in 1993. She was a great cook. Anastasia was also a fan of the New England Patriots and an avid Red Sox fan.
