Americo S. Ventura

Americo S. Ventura of Weymouth, 93, passed away April 9, 2023.

He was born in Concord to the late Americo and Celia Ventura. Americo grew up in Somerville and attended Somerville High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and his love for working on and flying airplanes, along with time spent on aircraft carriers, led to an exemplary 20-year military career. Aircrafts have played a major role in each of his jobs since leaving the Navy. Americo worked as an instructor for over 25 years at East Coast Aero Tech and Wentworth Institute. He was also employed as an F.A.A. examiner. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, fishing, canoeing, and hunting.

Beloved husband of over 60 years to the late Helen C. (Walsh) Ventura. Loving father of Denise Ventura and Barbara of Maine, Arlene Heroux and Mark of Holbrook, Stephen Ventura and Yao Ha of Whitman, Lori Heroux and the late Timothy of Holbrook, Scott Ventura and Karen of Pembroke and Natalie Peterson and William of Weymouth. Dear brother of the late Eleanor Ventura. Cherished grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Saturday 10AM-12PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square). A Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 12 PM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
