Alphonsus E. “Al” Mccarthy, Jr.

McCarthy, Alphonsus E., Jr.”Al” of Hull, died  unexpectedly on April 8, 2015. The beloved husband of 23 years to  Donna (Bonelli) McCarthy of Hull. Father of Alphonsus E. McCarthy, III of PA, Brenda Bureau and Theresa Markle both of Hyannis and John Cadiero of NH. Brother of the late Christine Dwyer. Al is also survived by many grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A longtime Hull resident, Al worked for Raytheon for many years before changing careers. He became a Licensed Practical Nurse and began working at the Weymouth Health Care formerly Sunbridge of Weymouth and then took a position at The Veterans Administration Hospital in Brockton, where he later specialized in wound care, where he retired from.  Both Al and his beloved wife Donna enjoyed taking cruises and they always looked forward to their yearly trips to Las Vegas. He was an avid pilot, a member of the Weymouth Gun Club as well as an Instructor of the Youth Group. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Hull at 10 AM.

Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers,  donations in memory of Al may be made to MSPCA, 350 S. Huntington Ave., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
