King, Alice V. (Forbes) of Quincy, died on February 21, 2010 at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Robert G. King. Devoted mother of Evelyn Maher and Carole Ambroceo both of Weymouth. Cherished grandmother of Suzanne Maher, Shannon Gaul, Scott Ambroceo, Robert Ambroceo and great grandmother of Cortney, Mark, Mitchell, Cole, Nathan and Emma Rose. Alice was born in Milton and lived there until moving to Quincy 64 years ago. She worked for Howard Johnson’s in Wollaston, as well as for the City of Quincy, retiring 28 years ago. Alice was a devoted, active member of the Wollaston Congregational Church for over 60 years, receiving an award after 50 years of service. Her involvments in the church included the Flower Committee, the Mr. and Mrs. Club and the newsletter group. She also enjoyed gardening, bowling and taking trips with the 1000 Southern Artery Group. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Thursday 4 – 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Quincy. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15AM on Friday, prior to the Funeral Service in Wollaston Congregational Church at 10 AM. Burial in Milton Cemetery, Milton. Donations in memory of Alice may be made to Children’s Hospital, Development, 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115.
