Alice “Pat” Oakes

Oakes, Alice “Pat” of Norwell, originally of Dorchester and Quincy, passed away February 24, 2017.  

Pat was born in Boston. She was a longtime employee of 40 years of the Masschusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles in Boston. Pat was the matriarch of her family and always looked after them. She was very independent and was a great leader. She loved to travel, including many trips to the beach and cruises. Pat was an avid Bingo player and especially loved the Red Sox. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Daughter to the late James and Anna Oakes. Beloved sister to Mary Ford of Quincy, Barbara Smith of Hingham, and the late Anna Wildes, James R. Oakes, Jr., and Frances Lazzaro. Dear aunt to 21 nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Saturday from 9-10 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Funeral Mass will be held following the visitation at St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston. Donations in memory of Pat made be made to a charity of your choice.
