Kelley, Alice L. (Charlton) of Hingham, 83 years young, passed away April 23, 2011 at home with family at her side after a brief, courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife of the late George M. Kelley. Loving mother of Paul Kelley and his wife Donna Marie of Peabody, Gina Moylan and her husband Tom of Duxbury, Arleen Thompson and her husband Joseph of W. Roxbury, Billy Kelley and his wife Robin of Dorchester, Ann Corcoran and her husband Tom of Weymouth, George Kelley and his wife Jennifer of Weymouth, and the late Robert Kelley. Cherished grandmother of Brian, Kelley, Katie, Sean, Hannah, Shannon, Brennan, Nicholas, Lila and Sam. Sister of Mary Petrucelli of Yarmouth, Tom Charlton of Braintree, Dottie Lovett of Milton, and Rick Charlton of Pocasset. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Alice would also like to acknowledge her Bradley Woods neighbors and many friends at the Hingham Senior Center. Alice’s life centered around her loving family and for many years she enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren. Active in her church, she was a former eucharistic minister and a daily communicant for many years at St. Paul’s Church. Retired in 1986 from the Boston Police Department where Alice worked as an Administrative Assistant. She enjoyed playing bridge at the Hingham Senior Center where she was a member for many years. Alice was an independent spirit, had tremendous energy, a strong will and a very kind heart. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham. Donations in memory of Alice may be made to Norwell VNA & Hospice, 91 Longwater Circle, Norwell, MA 02061.
