Hunter, Alice E. (Raftery) of Quincy, died on May 03, 2010. She was 85. Beloved wife of the late Henry O. Hunter. Devoted mother of Alison Morse and her husband Arthur of PA, Bernadette Johnson and her husband Carl of CT and Patricia Hunter-Dennehy and her husband John of Braintree. Loving sister of Nora Dillon of RI, Sally Parkinson of RI, John Raftery of Ireland and the late Mary Keeney, Patrick Raftery, Martin Raftery, Delia Donegan, Margaret McGee and Kathleen Raftery. Cherished Nana of 9 grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Alice was born in Ireland and has been a Quincy resident for over 50 years. She also spent a few years in Greenwich, CT with her daughter and son-in-law. She worked for the Archdiocese of Boston for over 30 years at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Braintree, St. Joseph Parish in Quincy, Columban Fathers in Quincy and most recently St. Paul’s Parish in Hingham. Alice lived a life of service always putting others before herself. She was a hardworking, caring woman and a devout Catholic. Her family describes her as an amazing woman with an optimistic outlook on life, always seeing the bright side of any situation. She will be sadly missed. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Friday 4 – 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 8:45AM on Saturday, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church at 10 AM. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in memory of Alice may be made to the Alzheimers Assn., MA Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
