Alice A. Defiel

Defiel, Alice A. (Scholtz) of Hingham, formerly of NY, January 21, 2006. Beloved mother of Jane (Defiel) Waligora of Sarasota, FL, and Michael Defiel of Hingham. Also survived by 4 grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Service in St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 16 Highland Ave. Cohasset on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Cremation will follow. Alice graduated from Syracuse University in 1939. She become an Art Teacher and taught until she got married. Her role then was to take care of her family. Alice was a wonderful artist, especially painting. Also known for her green thumb, she enjoyed gardening as well. She was often the recipient of failing plants in hopes of recovery which she always did. Alice enjoyed cooking and reading. Formerly of New York, her favorite read was “The New Yorker”.
