Gibson, Alfred “Ray” of Quincy, died on Thursday, September 16, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. The beloved husband of 53 years to Margaret (Mancuso) Gibson. Cherished father of Michael Gibson of Plymouth, James of Lowell, Richard of Whitman, Robert of AR, Alfred R. Gibson, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, David of Quincy and Jason Gibson of Dorchester. Brother of Kenneth & Thomas Gibson both of MO and Mary Jane Watson of AR and the late James Gibson. Brother in law of Frances McGillicuddy of Quincy, Phyllis Sherer of Dorchester and Paul Mancuso of Lexington. Ray is also the Grandpa of 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Ray was born in Vilonia, Arkansas the son of farmers. At 18 he joined the Navy which brought him to Boston, where he met and married his lovely bride Margaret. While Ray was an outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and the Patriots. His other favorite hobby was helping Margaret raise their 7 boys. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the celebration of life visiting hours on Tuesday, Sept. 21 from 4-9pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ray may be made to Hospice of Boston & Brockton, 500 Belmont St. Brockton, MA 02023 .
