The Newbridge Community lost a cherished member, Alexandrina “Anne” Braveman of Pembroke and Quincy, on July 8, 2021. Anne was born and raised in Berlin, New Hampshire. After high school, she attended and graduated from the Mass General Hospital School of Nursing.

Anne enjoyed doing needlepoint and was an avid reader. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing tennis at the Quincy Tennis Club where she became a member of the Board. She was also a member of the Neighborhood Club where she loved to be with family and friends. Anne was also a member of Hadassah and through her volunteer work and support was voted “Women of the Year” by Hadassah.

Anne was a beloved wife of two amazing men, the late William McCarthy and the late Mel Braveman. Anne will be remembered as friendly and fun-loving. She will be dearly missed. Anne is survived by her children – Dennis McCarthy and his wife Barbara of Weymouth, Barbara Kelly and her husband Rich of Scituate, Enid Braveman and her partner Stephanie Taylor of California, Margaret Deitsch and her husband Jim of Tennessee, Bridget Dedian and her husband Larry of Hingham and Bill McCarthy and his wife Kim of Pembroke. Cherished Grammy of Julie, Jillian, Jamie, Jake, Olivia, Wil, Dennis, Evan, Henry and Zoey and great grandmother of Isla Rose. Loving sister of the Late Leonard and Sheila Hickey

Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Anne may be made to the National MS Society of Greater New England, 101A First Ave., Waltham, MA 02451.
