Albert Joseph Paglierani, age 89, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 27, 2013.

He was born in Roxbury, MA and moved to Quincy in 1955 and remained there all his life. He served his country honorably by joining the Navy in 1942 to serve as an aviation machinist mate in the Pacific theater throughout WWII. He also served in the Korean War attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After leaving the service, he worked as a Master Machinist at the Boston Naval Shipyard for many years, as well as many local machine shops and shipyards. Being very athletic for most of his life, Al loved the outdoors and skied with his family and friends until the age of 78. He loved to fish and garden,bowl and chop wood to feed his wood stove in Gunstock.

His pride and joy was his family, including the love of his life, Annette (recently deceased), his 4 children, Steven and wife Barbara of Marstons Mills, Elena McClanahan and husband Paul of Truro, Michael and wife Sheila of Portsmouth, RI., and Joseph and wife Melinda of Valley Lee, MD. as well as his 9 grandchildren whom he loved dearly and who cherished him in return. In addition he is survived by two sisters, Rose Krand and Mary Savalio, both of Quincy and predeceased by sister Lena Gosling of Pennsylvania.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 4-8pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15am Saturday, February 2, 2013 prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10am. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Randolph. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Al may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 386 Hancock St, North Quincy, MA 02171 or to the Quincy Art Association, 26 High School Ave., Quincy, MA 02169.
