Alan H. Sheehan

Sheehan, Alan H. of Quincy, passed away December 16, 2011. Beloved husband of 46 years to Jean M. (Wajcium) Sheehan. Loving father of Jon F. Sheehan and his wife, Jenny, of Milton, Alan H. Sheehan, Jr and his wife, Angela, of Duxbury, Julie A. Leonard and her husband, Scott, of Norwell, Terence R. Sheehan of Quincy, Susan M. Joyce and her husband, Scott, of Rockland, and Jeanne M. Sheehan of Quincy. Cherished grandfather of Emma, Daniel, Julia, Maeve, Megan, Patrick, and Kyle. Also survived by many nieces and nephews including William Sheehan of Norwood, Paula Sheehan of Florida and Janice Sheehan of Wareham. Brother of Brian Hamlet of Plympton, Bruce Hamlet of Onset, Stephen Hamlet of California, Laure Blanchard of Florida, and the late Paul Sheehan Roger Sheehan and Wayne Hamlet. Alan was a Reporter/Writer for the Boston Globe for 21 years and a graduate of Suffolk University and Suffolk University Law School. He became a member of the Massachusetts Bar in 1978 and practiced law following his retirement from the Globe in 1980. In 2009 he received the Quincy Bar Advocate of the Year Award An avid sports fan, he also enjoyed reading, playing poker, crossword puzzles and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be missed by all those who had the pleasure to know him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
