Augustine L. Mello

Mello, Augustine L., 92, of Lake Village, Arkansas, previously from Norwell, MA died May 12, 2014.

Mr. Mello was a United States Navy Veteran who served proudly on the USS Woodward, during WWII.  He was an avid sports fan, especially for the Boston Red Sox, as well as, playing golf. His main passion were his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and  enjoying time with family and friends.  He will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Pre deceased by his wife Martha (Maynard) Mello, 3 sisters and 1 brother. He was the beloved father of Janet Conte and her husband Thomas of Lake Village, AR and Walter Mello and his wife Felicia of Medfield.  He was a loving grandfather to Christopher Conte and his wife Emily of Alabama, Abigail Shattuck and her husband Adam of Alabama, Walter Mello Jr. and his wife Susan of Connecticut and Nicole Mello of Massachusetts. He was also a devoted Great Grandfather to Kealen Conte, Waylon Shattuck, Oriana Shattuck and Hadley Mello.  A caring brother to John Mello and his wife Diane of Cohasset, Elizabeth “Betty” Longo and her husband Louis of Cohasset, Eileen “Bibs” Tyeryar and her late husband James of Scituate.  Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Saturday 10 AM – 12 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 1 PM in St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Scituate. Burial in Woodside Cemetery, Cohasset.
