Adrienne “Tootsie” R. Gowen

Gowen, Adrienne “Tootsie” R. (Pitcher) of Weymouth, formerly of Somerville, died March 6, 2018 aged 84.

Adrienne graduated from Somerville High School (1951) and Northeastern University (1984). In her early years she was a dance instructor at Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Boston. As well as working as an accountant, she was very active in the Weymouth community, serving as a Town Meeting Member, and on the Appropriations Committee, Conservation Commission, Lions Club and in both the First Baptist and Community Baptist Churches in Weymouth. She enjoyed tennis, gardening, and time spent with family on Cape Cod and in Florida. She will be sadly missed.

Beloved wife of the late Gerald C. Gowen. Devoted mother of Ellen M. Gowen and her late husband Ed Prohaska of Randolph, and Scott G. Gowen and his wife Emma Northey of Medway. Cherished Nana of Siobhan Casey and her husband Drew of Raleigh, NC and Willow Gowen of Medway. Great-grandmother to Kaitlyn Casey. Loving sister of Marion “Terry” Lett and her husband Arnie of Dennis, Gail Pacifico of NV, Russelyne Robins of Medford and Marlene Smithers of Somerville. Adrienne is also survived by many adored nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on MONDAY, March 12^th from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a Funeral Service at Community Baptist Church, Weymouth, WEDNESDAY at 10 AM. Following guests are invited to a Celebration of Adrienne’s life at The Granite Links Golf Course, Quincy, MA at 11:30 AM.  Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne Thursday at 11:15 AM.
