Adrian Platteel

Adrian Platteel of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2021.

Adrian was born on August 3, 1938 to the late Adrian and Ruth (Milford) Platteel. He served as a Military Police Specialist in the U.S. Army from 1957-1965.  He was co-owner of Garryowen Electric and a master in the trade.  He was a  member of the Braintree Yacht Club, Adams Heights Men’s Club, Weymouth Elks and Cohasset American Legion.  Adrian volunteered with the Quincy Civil Air Patrol.  He loved spending time with his family and on his boat.

Beloved husband of Arlene (Sunnerberg) Platteel. Beloved father to Karen (Frank) Kelly, Peter (Kathy) Platteel, and Billy Platteel, all of Weymouth, Michael (Jennifer) Platteel of Chelmsford, and Jim (Vanna) Platteel of Dunstable. He was proud grandfather to 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Adrian was beloved older brother to Jacquie Howell, Fara McNamara, and the late Diane Dickess, and Uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Funeral Service will be private.

Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for the community to gather in support of one another. Although we cannot gather together with Adrian’s family at this time, friends may still offer their support by sharing a special memory or message.
