LaBraico, Adelaide “Addie” (Bzullak) 

81, of Hingham, MA, formerly of Bristol, CT, Montclair, NJ and Boston, MA died on January 9, 2016 with her family by her side. She is survived by James LaBraico, MD, her beloved husband of 58 years; a daughter, Jeanne Prater and her husband Jeffrey of Baldwin, MD; a son, James LaBraico of Cambridge, MA, a brother, Michael Bzullak of West Hartford, CT; four grandchildren, John Prater, Brian Prater, Donald LaBraico, Olivia LaBraico and six nieces and nephews. She was predeceaseded by her sister, Katherine Rubino.

She was born to the late Michael and Adeline (Herman) Bzullak, June 9, 1934 in Torrington, CT. Adelaide graduated from Torrington High School in 1951 earned a RN degree from the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing in 1954. In 1980, she earned a BA in English from Central Connecticut State University.

 Addie was a docent at the Boston Public Library and enjoyed sharing the history of the library during her tours. Twenty years ago, upon moving to Boston, she started the Avalon Prudential Apartments Book Club, which continues today. Addie’s great passion was reading and books. Her book collection included a wide range of volumes spanning literature, poetry, biographies, art, history and travel. Her collections related to books and reading extended to a large collection of antique bookends. Addie gave a presentation on her bookend collection at the 35th Annual Boston International Antiquarian Book Fair in 2011. She enjoyed traveling, spending summers in Charlestown, Rhode Island and was an avid gardener and cook.
