Robert C. Genereux

Robert Carey Genereux “Bob”, passed away peacefully at home on August 29, 2023, at The Cordwainer in Norwell at the age of 89.  Bob was born at home in North Quincy on March 15, 1934, to Alice and Alfred Genereux.  He graduated from North Quincy High School and attended Tufts University, graduating with a BA in International Relations.  After serving in the Air Force, Bob earned his JD at Suffolk University School of Law an began a successful career as an attorney.

In 1956, Bob married the pretty girl who lived next door, Maureen Genereux (Connolly), and they eloped to Flight Training school together.  They raised 5 children in Hingham and retired to New Hampshire after many years working together.  Bob enjoyed flying, camping, traveling, history, peanut butter cookies and reading a good book with a cup of tea on the porch.

Bob was devoted to his wife and family and was very proud of his children and grandchildren.  He was a hard worker professionally and a dedicated volunteer with local charities.  Bob was a man of few words, until recently, and will be missed by all who knew him.

Bob is survived by his wife Maureen, his son Scott, his son Tom and his husband David, his son Paul and his wife Marlene and their daughter Nicole, his son Jeff and his wife Suze, and his daughter Amy and her husband Mike and their son Jackson and daughter Riley.

A private memorial service for the family will take place at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Hingham, MA.
