Alan J. Berk

Alan Joseph Berk of Weymouth, left this world on October 13, 2022. He was 57 years old.
Alan was born and raised in South Boston. He met Bonnie in 1986 and the two were married in July of 1988. Soon after the couple moved and made their home in Weymouth. Alan and Bonnie were inseparable throughout their relationship. They were considered by most as one unit. There was never an Alan without Bonnie or a Bonnie without Alan, it was always Alan and Bonnie together. He was a graduate of Don Bosco High School in Boston. Alan worked for 15 years at Gillette where he met Bonnie and was considered a brilliant mechanic.  He changed career’s and was a technician for Local 103 where he worked for several  companies. His final position was at J&M Brown Company once again working along side Bonnie. Alan excelled at everything he set out to do, he could fix anything and could trouble shoot any problem and solve it. He was hilariously funny and was told a number of times that he had missed his calling as a comedian. Alan lit up a room and made friends everywhere he went. He was especially loved by children and was a “kid-magnet” despite the fact that he loved throwing the kids in the pool when he had the chance. He loved hockey and was a phenomenal ice skater as well. Alan will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
He was the son of Anita (Cazenave) Berk of South Boston and the late Thomas W. Berk Jr. Beloved husband and best friend of Bonnie A. Berk of Weymouth. Darling brother of Kimberly Wall and her husband Mark of Stoneham, Leona Rolfe and her husband Joseph of Easton, Catherine Clouse and her husband Lester of Crystal River FL., and Pamela DeMar and her husband Matthew of Leominster. Dear brother-in-law to Lori Flaherty and  her husband Mark of Rockland, Allison Messner and her husband Craig of Pembroke, and Kelley Kennedy of Hingham.  Devoted “Uncle Alan” to Matthew and Meaghan Flaherty, Carleigh, Mallory, and Audrey Messner, Ella, Jake, and Noah Kennedy, Brenna, Ciara, and Kaleigh Wall, Crista Llanes and her husband Chris, and Hannah Rolfe. Also loving Great-Uncle to Cooper Llanes. Loved by many nieces, nephews and the children of countless other family and friends he will always be known as our “Uncle Alan”.
