Joseph G. Sullivan Jr.

Sullivan, Joseph G. Jr. died peacefully June 28, 2014 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Cohasset where he resided for the last 6 years.

Joe was born, raised, and educated in Boston. He entered the Navy and served 5 years as a meteorologist during the Korean War Conflict. When Joe returned home he worked his way up in the New England Telephone Company to eventually hold the position of Data Engineer. He met Elizabeth “Bette”, his wife of over 36 years, during the blizzard of 78 and since that day loved her more than anything. After he retired Joe and Betty enjoyed living in Rotonda, FL for 20 years. He loved reading and spending time with his family. Joe was a wonderful man who will be remembered for his Irish bread and his Irish wit.

Beloved husband to Elizabeth Ciccarelli Sullivan of Weymouth. Cherished father of Donna Greene and her husband Steven of Waltham, Christine Ciccarelli of Weymouth, Pamela Molinari and her husband Wayne of Scituate, and the late Frank “Chicky” Ciccarelli. Loving brother to Mary Loftus and the late Claire Escalle and Peggy McDonald. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  

Services for Joe will be privately held. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Joe may be made to the BrightFocus Foundation for Macular Degeneration at 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871.
