Claire P. Barrett

Claire Patricia (Yetman) Barrett of South Weymouth, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 11, 2013.  She was 86 years old. 

Claire was born and raised in South Boston and graduated from Nazareth High School.  Claire was very creative and was an especially good seamstress.  She loved traveling, baking, reading and most of all, spending time with her family. 

For 60 years, she was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Barrett.  She was the devoted mother of seven children, fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Loving mother of Denise DiLorenzo and her husband George of Middleton/Lynnfield; Janice Fagan and her husband James of Duxbury, Edward Barrett of Highland Beach, FL, Claire (Cindy) Ferrucci and her husband John of Hingham, Daniel Barrett of South Weymouth, Paul Barrett and his wife Kelly of Salem and the late John Barrett.  She is the sister of Mary Weir of Magnolia, Bernard (Buddy) Yetman of Plymouth, the late William Yetman of Cocoa Beach, FL and the late James Yetman of Mashpee.  Sister-in-law of Dorothy Reardon of Weymouth, Sally Yetman of Plymouth, the late Rita O’Connor of South Boston, and the late Mary Yetman of Cocoa Beach, FL.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the McDonald Funeral Home, SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte. 18 opp. South Shore Hospital),  on Sunday, April 14 from 4 to 8 PM.  Relatives and friends will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday morning,  April 16th at 9:00 AM to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Francis Xavier Church, 234 Pleasant St., South Weymouth at 10:00 AM.  Interment at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, at 12:30 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Claire’s honor to the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, 7 Feldberg Patient Care and Nursing Education Fund, c/o Chris Garabedian, 7 Feldberg Hematology Oncology, 330 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215.
