Gertrude C. Keddie

Gertrude C. (Boyan) Keddie, of Venice, Florida, died on March 28, 2013. She was 100.

Wife of the late George W. Keddie.   Gertrude was the loving mother of  Barbara McManus of Venice, FL., George W. “Skip” Keddie, Jr. of Derry, NH and Mary Louise Hainsworth of Rochester Hills, MI. Gertrude is predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.  

Gertrude was born and grew up in Boston. She worked for New England Telephone for many years retiring back in 1978. She lived in Plymouth before moving to Florida. The essence of her life was her family and her faith. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Matthew’s Lady Sodality. She cherished her family and the time she spent with them. They feel blessed to have has such an amazing woman in their lives for so many years. She truly was a gift from God and she will be sadly missed by all those who knew her.     

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:45am on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, North Quincy Friday at 12 PM. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. Donations in memory of Gertrude may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
