Joseph R. Nista

Nista, Joseph R. of Weymouth, passed away February 8, 2013.

Joseph was a 50 year member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local #17. He was a member of the Son’s of Italy and the Weymouth Elks. An avid outdoors man, he enjoyed camping, hunting and gardening. He was a great cook and a talented wood carver. Most of all, he was a proud father and grandfather.

Loving father of Beth Sargent and husband Douglas of Rockland, Terri Nista and husband Earle Elliott of Pembroke, and Joseph R. Nista, Jr. and wife Scottee of Sandwich. Devoted grandfather of Amy & Rebecca Sargent of Rockland and Rachel Nista of Sandwich. Brother of Anthony Nista and wife Antoinette of Weymouth, Michael Nista and wife Marie of Marshfield, Ann Scioscia of Holbrook and late husband Gene, and the late Mary Hynes and her late husband Tom. Nephew of Lucy Striano and Rose Salemme, both of Weymouth and the late Alfonse Perrone and Mary Santacroce. Also survived by many nieces, nephews cousins and countless friends. He was known for his unique sense of humor and ability to make anyone laugh even during tough times.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hosp.) A funeral service will be in celebration of Joseph’s life will be held on Saturday at 11 AM in the funeral home.
